Cornish businesses are being encouraged to tap into the talents of undergraduates in Cornwall this summer with the added benefit of up to a £400 subsidy towards their wages.

The Brighter Cornwall programme, which is delivered by Unlocking Potential and funded by Cornwall Council, offers businesses the chance to recruit an extra pair of hands by employing an undergraduate during the summer break.

In addition to benefitting from a new temporary member of staff to help lighten the load, businesses using the Brighter Cornwall programme will also receive free support in recruiting the undergraduate, in addition of a wage subsidy of up to £400 and free payroll services during their period of work.

Unlocking Potential director, Allyson Glover, commented: “Every year a small army of talented, enthusiastic undergraduates break for the summer with the vast majority of them looking for work.

“Brighter Cornwall exists to help businesses in the county tap into that pool of talent.”
