Cornwall College CEO and principal, Amarjit Basi, has resigned

The Cornwall College Group is searching for a new CEO following the resignation of Amarjit Basi.

In a statement issued today (July 1), Philip Rees, chair of governors, said: “It is with regret that the Board of Governors of Cornwall College has accepted the resignation of Amarjit Basi.

“Amarjit has been the principal and chief executive officer of the college for the last three years, during which he has led the college to change its direction and structures, delivered a very good Ofsted inspection outcome and overseen the merger with Bicton College.

“We wish him well with the next stage of his career in further and higher education. The Board of Governors will immediately put in place the process of recruiting a new Principal and CEO, and in the meantime has asked Raoul Humphreys to become acting CEO and principal from when Amarjit leaves on 31 July 2016 until that process is complete.”
