A public exhibition on the proposed redevelopment of the Rosslyn Hotel will be held next week.
Members of the public are being invited along to the hotel on March 16 (between 2pm-7pm) to discuss the proposed scheme with the project team.
The hotel’s new owners want to transform it into managed student accommodation with complementary amenity space.
The development will look to provide 125 student beds with appropriate levels of parking provision.
James Wells, the developer from StudioUS Investment Management, said: “Falmouth is going from strength to strength as a university town with both the growth of Falmouth University and the University of Exeter’s growing commitment to Penryn campus.
“To date, the provision of purpose built student accommodation in the town has not matched this growth on campus and there is increasing pressure on the town centre housing stock.”
“Most students look to live in Falmouth town after first year so that they can benefit from the cultural diversity this historic coastal town has to offer.
“The proposed site is the ideal location for students with nearby public transport links to both campuses whilst also encouraging students away from the town centre locations more suitable for other residential uses, but retaining the economic benefits for the town.
“The development will help alleviate the demand for student housing within the town centre by providing high-quality accommodation with security and study facilities.”
A planning application is expected to be submitted later in the year.
