Local MP, George Eustice, has nominated a Redruth pub chef for the inaugural Parliamentary Pub Chef of the Year award.

Noel Ashborne from the Treleigh Arms will be judged by an expert panel which will decide whether he will go through to the final stages.

The award will be presented in the New Year and is run by the British Beer & Pub Association and the All Party Parliamentary Beer Group.

Eustice commented: “We have some fantastic pubs in our part of Cornwall. The food and drink on offer is always exceptional and nominating only one of our chefs for the Parliamentary Pub Chef of the Year Award was incredibly difficult.

“However, the food at the Treleigh Arms in Redruth, which uses locally sourced Cornish ingredients, has always been brilliant and I think it would be great if Chef Noel Ashborne and the Treleigh Arms was recognised with this award.”
