CSW Group, one of the region’s largest providers of bespoke services to individuals, local authorities and businesses, has achieved re-certification of the internationally-recognised ISO 27001 from the British Standards Institution (BSI).
The standard is a specification for information security management and is only awarded to companies who can meet rigorous criteria judged by accredited, independent auditors.
CSW Group provides services to business, the public sector and to individuals; and first gained accreditation in 2012. This re-certification means the company works to the very latest award criteria.
As part of a wide portfolio of innovative business services, CSW Group works under contract to a number of local authority and public sector bodies, managing high volumes of sensitive customer data and ensuring the highest levels of information security.
Cyber security is an increasing priority for organisations, as criminals develop increasingly sophisticated methods to steal valuable data and hack into proprietary systems. CSW Group was also among the first organisations in the south west to achieve the Government’s Cyber Essentials Certification which enables organisations to protect themselves against cyber-attacks.
Paul Hobson, chief executive of CSW Group, said: “As a company we are committed to the very highest standards of information security, both in terms of policy approach and technology. Complying with ISO 27001 ensures that all staff recognise the importance of following strict information security protocols. Together with our Cyber Essentials accreditation we are demonstrating how seriously we take our responsibility to protecting client data.”
