Coodes Solicitors has opened a new office in St Ives.

Based at the town’s Guildhall, the office opened today (May 5), marking the latest development in the firm’s expansion.

It is being headed up by residential property lawyer, Mary Wright, who has worked for a number of law firms across the south west. She is joined by receptionist Jess Hudson.

Coodes’ CEO, Gerard Hickie, said: “As part of our expansion, we needed to grow our presence in west Cornwall. Being right in the heart of St Ives in the historic Guildhall is perfect for us.”

Chairman, Peter Lamble, added: “Coodes has long-standing links with the town, including sponsoring the St Ives Chamber of Trade and Commerce Business Fair.

“We can now offer a local branch to St Ives businesses and residents, who have traditionally travelled to their Penzance office, as well as welcoming new clients.”

Along with a recent successful recruitment drive, Coodes achieved a 25% increase in residential property clients last year, against national market growth in property transactions of just 14%.
