Work is nearing completion on the former Remedies Nightclub building on the Moor in Falmouth, which will soon open to become Cornwall’s second Lounge Bar.

The Falmouth Lounge Bar is the latest in a roll out of Lounge Bars across the UK by Loungers Limited, which also operates Cosy Club bars and will provide 30 new jobs within the restaurant and use local suppliers where possible.

The company is investing £650k on repairing and bringing the Grade ll listed former Town Hall and Fire Station building back into use by May 28, the official opening date.

A spokesperson for Loungers commented: “We will be looking to retain and repair most of the building’s key features – it is what attracted us to this site.

“By removing a nightclub and creating a fantastic family friendly all-day restaurant we play a key part in the Council’s plans to improve the Moor. Our ethos has always been to invest and contribute to the local community – this is good for everyone.”

Loungers opened its first venue, a Lounge Bar, in the Bedminster area of Bristol in August 2002. Since then the company has undergone rapid expansion with now more than 60 Lounge Bars and Cosy Clubs operating sites across the country, including one in Truro which opened in 2013.
