A Cornish company specialising in swimwear for babies and children has seen a dramatic increase in export sales to the USA after joining forces with UK Trade and Investment’s (UKTI) team of export advisers.
Konfidence Ltd, based in Launceston, has almost doubled turnover in the US since attending a major trade show.
International sales director, Dan Allen, said: “We now have 14 distribution partners in 25 countries but the US is a market that is vital for our further expansion.
“While we had an established partner there, we wanted to do more to help them and approached UKTI which gave us access to funding for OMIS (Overseas Marketing Introduction Service) reports, assistance in organising our trade visit and the stand at this key trade show.
“We were also able to make important contacts with good retailers and agents who are now working with us.”
Export now makes up about 40% of Konfidence’s turnover, and the company has plans to expand further, into the Middle East and south west Asia markets.
