Dot Peryer has joined the team at Fal River Cornwall to co-ordinate the festival (May 24- June 2).

Since moving to Cornwall almost ten years ago, Peryer has worked in several strategic roles, including being one of the key drivers of Truro’s annual City of Lights event.

The procession, which takes place each November, attracts around 25,000 people to the city each year.

She previously worked as the director of The Works, Cornwall’s dance and theatre development agency and was also formerly the general manager of the Natural Theatre Company, in Bath.

Tim Light, of Fal River Cornwall, said: “It was this wealth of experience that made Dot the perfect choice to help us take the festival forward and ensure that it has a bright future.

“She’s already full of ideas and we can’t wait until she’s putting them into practice making the festival not just a great event for Falmouth, but for the whole of Cornwall. We have no doubt these fantastic shoulder month festivals help the economy and most importantly work well for our many partners and sponsors.”
