THE student and staff cafeteria at Duchy College Rosewarne has received the highest rating in the National Food Hygiene Rating Scheme (NFHRS) from Cornwall Council.
The NFHRS is run in partnership with the Food Standards Agency and local authorities. Food businesses are inspected to make sure that all food handled and prepared is safe to eat. Once inspected, premises are given a rating from zero to five, and Choughs received a ‘five’.
Lorna Wragg, Choughs’ cafeteria manager, said: “I am absolutely delighted, I never expected to get a five but it’s something I’ve always wanted! The team work so hard, we serve between two and three hundred people a day and this has been a real boost.”
