Part of a national Windows of Opportunity roadshow, the event – to be held at Plymouth Pavilions on October 24 – will explore new ways to raise money without banks, examine what type of money businesses need and explain the new investment opportunities out there.

School for Startups has been commissioned by Growth Accelerator, a new partnership between Government and private enterprise to boost high-growth business, to deliver the roadshow.

Julian Beer, pro vice-chancellor for regional enterprise at Plymouth University, which is one of the founding partners of GAIN, said: “We’re delighted to have attracted an entrepreneur of Doug’s calibre to Plymouth. This event is what GAIN is all about – it is a must for any business looking for innovative ways to access funds and for investors looking for greater potential returns.”
