Tricky’s Hotel in Redruth has been placed into administration.

Robin Allen and Richard Hawes, partners at business advisory firm Deloitte, have been appointed joint administrators to Tricky’s Cornwall Ltd, the company which owns and operates the hotel and restaurant.

Deloitte has made arrangements to continue operating the 18 bedroom hotel and its facilities, which include a bar, restaurant, hair and beauty salon and gym, while it seeks a buyer for the business.

The administrators and their team will be contacting those with future function bookings to ensure they are fully informed on the current situation.

The intention is to honour all accommodation and function room bookings while the business is traded as a going concern by the administrators. No redundancies are expected during the period of the administrators’ trading.

Robin Allen, joint administrator and partner in Deloitte’s restructuring services team, commented: “Following our appointment as administrator to Tricky’s Cornwall Ltd, we have been working closely with staff to maintain a state of business as usual for the hotel’s current guests.

“Our primary aim is to ensure that the hotel and its facilities are able to operate as normal while we seek a buyer.

“The opportunities afforded by Cornwall’s strong tourism industry are an attractive prospect for many investors and we are happy to talk to those with an interest in acquiring the business as a going concern.”
