Energy rises costing millions

Cornish homes and businesses are going to have to find an extra £20M for gas and electricity in the wake of recent price rises announced by energy providers.

That’s the prediction of local sustainable energy specialist Enact Energy, which has reported a record number of enquiries for solar power and other energy saving initiatives.

Executive chairman John Egan commented: “The collective increased energy bill for Cornwall is staggering and there is no doubt that these new price rises have triggered significant interest in solar electricity in recent weeks.

“People are becoming more and more concerned with the cost of energy and you can fully understand why.”
