A Penryn-based social design agency has won the contract to run the final Dott (Designs of the Time) Cornwall project.

SEA Communications has been appointed as lead design agency for the Big Design Challenge Cornwall initiative.

Launching on Thursday, November 18, and running until March 2011, the challenge will see several community groups win funded support to help solve an issue that affects Cornwall at the moment.

SEA director, Kathryn Woolf, said: “We’re all very excited about this project, which we feel is going to have long-term benefits for Cornwall.

“We’ve already been lucky enough to the work on the New Work Cornwall project for Dott and we’re proud it is having an impact.

“While New Work focuses on issues surrounding employment, the Big Design Challenge will look to address some of the key issues facing Cornwall at the moment, such as affordable housing or transport, by getting communities together and taking action.”

During November and December SEA will be holding a series of events at various locations across Cornwall to find out what issues matter most to people.

The company is also in the process of launching a website and text messaging service to capture as much information as possible.
