FHC invests in marine apprentices

Falmouth Harbour Commissioners (FHC) has invested in two new marine apprentices who are busy settling into their new roles.

As well as learning on-the-job skills, John Cruse and Matthew Ormondare completing level 2 NVQs in marine engineering at Falmouth Marine School.

The apprentices are already learning their way around boat maintenance and operations and will be helping to take care of Falmouth’s moorings throughout the winter months.

Harbour Master Mark Sansom said: “We strongly believe in sustainable, highly-skilled jobs and we are delighted to welcome Matthew and John to the FHC family.

“They have settled in well and are both keen and enthusiastic in getting to know their new roles. We are pleased to be working alongside Falmouth Marine School in giving something back to the local community.”
