After last year’s success, companies in Cornwall are again being invited to test their mettle in support of young people’s charity – BF Adventure (BFA).

The BFA Corporate Challenge on October 8 is a chance for companies to test their skills in canoeing, climbing, abseiling, archery, zip wire and other exciting pursuits at the Goodygrane Activity Centre near Penryn.

Chief executive Tony Hogg said: “We’re looking forward to another action-packed morning of adventurous outdoor challenges whilst raising money for urgently needed new buildings. Who dares wins!

“We’ve been operating from old portacabins for 21 years, but we’ve now reached a point at which new facilities are essential to allow us to continue the high quality service for disadvantaged people we are best known for.

“In order to raise the £1 million required for new buildings, we need support from our community and local businesses will play a very important role.”

Taking place on Friday, October 8 from 9.30am to 2pm, the minimum sponsorship is £50 per person based on teams of four people.

Since 1989, BF Adventure (formerly Bishop’s Forum) has used the medium of outdoor activities to support disaffected young people, clients with disabilities, long-term unemployed adults, and many other individuals with additional support needs. The bespoke programmes help build self esteem and develop positive life skills to re-engage within mainstream education, college or enter employment.
