What did you want to be when you were young? A writer.

What was your first full time job? Hotel receptionist.

What is your best quality? Passion.

What is your worst quality? I can be stubborn!

What is your favourite book? Anything by Anthea Paul – her books are really uplifting.

What is your favourite film? Labyrinth.

What is your favourite restaurant? Hunkydorys in Falmouth – it’s so romantic and the food is divine!

How do you like to relax? My favourite place to go is the Budock Vean Hotel where I can sit for hours in the outdoor hot tub overlooking the golf course.

If you could build a house anywhere in the world where would it be? Anywhere where I can see the water.

If you could be a superhero, what superpowers would you like to possess? Time travel would be pretty cool.

Who was your teenage pin up? Adam Ant.

Can money buy happiness? It can buy a lot of things that help but ultimately no.

Most annoying TV personality? Harry Hill.

What has been the best moment in your career? I’m living it now – starting my own business feels incredible.

What has been the worst moment in your career? There are a lot of politics in hospitality and when I was younger it took me a while to understand this. I had to learn the hard way that sometimes bosses do not appreciate ambition and innovation or want you to push yourself. I took the job at Penventon because the boss was inspiring and invested in me, believing that I could achieve great things. I hope to be an inspiring boss myself one day!

What do you begrudge spending money on? Anything mundane.

If you only had £1 left in the entire world, what would you spend it on? Bones for my dogs; Jasper and Lola and if there was any change I would buy a Curlywurly.

What’s the best thing about Cornwall? It’s stunning and very dog friendly.

What is the most valuable lesson you have learned in life? To take the emotion way before making decisions and to respond and not react.

What makes you happy? Time with Jake and the dogs.

What makes you angry? False benefit claimants!

If you could invite any two people for dinner, who would they be and why would you invite them? David Bowie and Lord Alan Sugar – Imagine having two great legends at your table!

What could you not live without? Books.

What’s the greatest invention ever? The internet.

What’s your favourite holiday destination? That’s a tough one – Greece is my favourite place abroad but I also love the South West – there are so many hidden gems in Cornwall and Devon for a romantic weekend break which naturally I have had to visit for them to feature on the website!

When is honesty not always the best policy? I honestly believe it always is – it is one of my biggest values, although I have been accused of being too honest!
