Cornwall College Business (CCB) has developed a new leadership programme to help business owners, senior managers and middle managers become more inspiring leaders.

‘Leading to Success’ is being delivered in a series of four one-day workshops and includes interactive presentations, group discussions on how leadership affects business performance as well as guest speakers from local businesses including TRAC Services, Worldwide Financial Planning and Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust.

Research conducted by Daniel Goleman, an author, psychologist, and science journalist, highlighted that “up to 30% of a company’s financial results are determined by the mood of the organisation”.

Delegates signing up to the programme will receive a personal leadership psychometric profile with one to one feedback and coaching from experienced industry experts. Delegates will also develop skills to create an atmosphere for innovation and creativity, team building and understanding team dynamics, decision making and communication, change management and strategic approaches to developing staff.

Meanwhile, local food manufacturer Ginsters has teamed up with CCB to offer its staff a range of leisure and learning for fun taster sessions as part of a national initiative.

Adult Learners’ Week, which runs from May 15-21, is a campaign to demonstrate to adults how learning can be fun for business development or for personal and leisure skills.

Over the last seven years CCB has worked jointly with Ginsters to put on its own Learning at Work Day. This year’s day is due to take place on Friday May 20.
