Carn Brea Leisure Centre has announced plans to freeze the majority of prices for its facilities for the next 12 months.

The move comes as part of an initiative to encourage the public to make the most of the recently upgraded facility while at the same time becoming more aware of their health.

Alex Clifton, Centre Manager said: “We have managed to freeze almost all prices until April 2011 in order to reflect the challenging economic conditions and to thank customers for their support over the last year.

“80% of our users come from within a ten-mile radius of the Centre and we’re pleased to be able to support, and be at the heart, of our local community.

“We are also aware that because of the recession people have less disposable income, and so wanted to do everything that we could to keep the facilities affordable and accessible for the community.”

Nigel Tipple Chief Executive of CPR Regeneration Ltd, the urban regeneration company for Camborne Pool and Redruth, welcomed the announcement: “This is a great news, Carn Brea Leisure Centre is a valuable resource operated for the benefit of the whole community and sits within the heart of the Camborne, Pool and Redruth regeneration area.

“The provision of, and access to, quality leisure facilities has a positive impact on the health and well being of our community; it is critical in supporting the transformation of the area, creating a place where people choose to work, live and enjoy an excellent quality of life.”
