Welsh plans to take on Cornish Pasty

A new rival to the dominance of the mighty Cornish Pasty is emerging – from Wales.

A new firm – The Pembrokeshire Pasty & Pie Co – is planning to open outlets across the UK, beginning with Tenby next month and Cardiff later in the summer, before moving onto England.

The idea for The Pembrokeshire Pasty & Pie Co came to director Oliver Booth after discovering that Pembrokeshire had its own traditional pasty, but that not one sold it.

Apparently, the Pembrokeshire Pasty contains Welsh lamb, redcurrant jelly, currants and mint.

So which one is best? In the inimitable words of Harry Hill, there’s only one way to find out…
