Cornwall College Business (CCB) is hosting an event designed for SMEs to find out about training and funding available to boost their business.
The event, ‘Does your business need a performance boost’, will be held on Wednesday October 28, at Cornwall College Business Conference Suite, Camborne 2.00pm – 4.30pm.
This event is free to local SMEs, offering taster sessions to a wide range of performance boosting degree level short courses for business.
Andrew Stone, Art & Creative Director from Oracle Design, successfully completed the web design and authoring course and said: “I really enjoyed the course and learnt a lot enabling me to go away and use my new skills immediately. The course was very beneficial for me and my business and it enabled me to have a website that I have wanted for years, but didn’t know how.”
At the ‘Does your business need a performance boost’ event, delegates will hear from local businesses including KCS Trade Print Ltd of Launceston, Green Lawns Hotel of Falmouth, Oracle Design of Newquay and the YMCA of Penzance.
The event offers a wide range of taster sessions for delegates to choose from including: marketing, finance, web and print design, employment law, e-marketing and management. There will also be special advice sessions for businesses and individuals to find out about training and funding available.
The financial commitment of higher level courses is always a consideration, but with investment from the ESF (European Social Fund) Convergence Programme and the Learning and Skills Council, Cornwall College Business (CCB) is able to offer these degree level courses, validated by the University of Plymouth at a subsidised rate.
Dave Linnell OBE, Principal of Cornwall College said: “This event offers local businesses an opportunity to get a taste of training before they commit fully to a course. This enables them to enrol on the right course for them meeting their needs as well as receive advice on funding.”
