Homeworkers based in Cornwall feature in a newly published guide aimed at getting the best from working from home.

Author Judy Heminsley came up with the idea for the book while a student on the MA Professional Writing course at University College Falmouth, and used a local network to tap into Cornish knowledge and experience.

She explained: “I wanted the book to include plenty of real life stories and as I was already a member of Network Cornwall, the online network for women in the county, it was the obvious place to start.

“In these times of economic difficulty and redundancy it was heartening to confirm that modern technology makes it possible to make a good living, running a small business or holding down a well-paid job, while living in the depths of the Cornish countryside.”

The book includes case studies and tips on issues of key concern such as staying productive, keeping a healthy balance between work and family, and not becoming isolated.

Work from Home is published by How To Books at £12.99 and is available from all good bookshops or from Judy’s website workfromhomewisdom.com, where there is more material, written since completion of the book, available free of charge.
