Wage cuts at Truro FC

It is has been reported that Truro City Football Club have had to temporarily cut players’ wages by 50% as a consequence of the economic downturn.

The ambitious non-League side,  which is bankrolled by property millionaire Kevin Heaney, who saw one of his business interests, Cornish Homes (UK) Ltd, go into liquidation last year, has also had to ask its admin staff to take a 20% pay cut, according to a story from BBC Sport.

The club say they hope to pay the players the balance of their wages at the end of the season.
