We provide search engine optimisation for businesses of all shapes and sizes, from fresh start-ups to established e-commerce brands, we aim to get you to the top of Google using SEO. We focus exclusively on SEO and create bespoke strategies for every business we work with. Our SEO services are affordable, and we operate on a month-to-month basis with no minimum-length contracts.
Business Cornwall: Why was the business founded?
Smart SEO Cornwall was started because of a genuine need for affordable SEO services. Having been involved in a few of my own business start-ups with limited budgets, I found myself wearing many hats, including handling the core business tasks, accounting, communications, sales, and online marketing—just like most small business owners have to when starting out.
I knew that I couldn’t afford to pay my way to the top with online advertising and PPC, I also knew that as soon as I stopped putting money into these avenues my leads would be completely gone and I’d be back to square one! This is where search engine optimisation came in and after some late evening Zoom calls with a friend of my brother (who happened to be an expert in SEO) I made the recommended changes to my own website and before I knew it, I was on the first page of Google right next to multi-million-pound companies with 10 years+ behind them… This is where my obsession with SEO began!
Fast forward a couple of years and in my opinion, SEO is the best tool for long-term digital success – If the right type of business gets into the top spot, it can change people’s lives. My greatest successes have come from SEO which is why I founded Smart SEO Cornwall to help other businesses climb into those top spots.
Business Cornwall: How does the business compare to competitors in the industry?
We like to think we offer the most affordable SEO services in Cornwall. I agree that large companies in competitive industries need to invest a decent amount into their website, however, I don’t think this represents the majority of start-ups or businesses that are established but don’t have huge budgets to put into online marketing. We keep it straightforward and affordable, offering month-to-month SEO plans with no long-term commitments. SEO can be confusing at times which is why educating business owners is important so they can understand that SEO is a long-term plan and isn’t something you can just turn on and become #1 – There’s a strategy behind it which must be tailored to each business. Furthermore, I aim to get back to all enquiries personally within just a few hours! I tell people exactly what I would do to achieve higher rankings and explain why these things need to happen. Even if they decide not to work with us, I feel they can walk away with actionable advice on how to improve their SEO.
Business Cornwall: What are the business’s plans both short-term and long-term?
In the short term, we plan to continue working with our monthly SEO clients to produce tangible results for their businesses by building strong websites. We would like to grow our client portfolio and introduce a range of case studies to be used to educate people on exactly what we did, why we did it and the results it achieved.
Our long-term plans involve creating helpful content such as blogs on our website covering all aspects of SEO, offering tips and advice to help anyone struggling with search engine optimisation. The business will continue to invest in the way we deliver our service, expanding our network within the SEO industry, keep providing great results for local businesses thus cementing ourselves as one of the best SEO agencies in Cornwall.

At the time of writing this, our new website is less than one year old and we have achieved top rankings for all of our main keywords in arguably one of the most competitive industries with many established agencies. Anyone can see the details on Google:

We have achieved this by using modern techniques and a targeted SEO strategy that’s really still only in its early stages. We define success by our results and the results earned for our clients. We won’t be able to build a successful business, without successful clients. It’s important for us to build long-term partnerships with business owners, getting to know them and their business goals and becoming part of their team.
