A sold out event designed to empower Cornwall’s businesswomen is set to make waves this October, delivered by the Breakthrough programme and powered by the Growth Hub.

The gathering, aptly named Tide Turners, will take place on October 1 from 10 am to 2.30pm at The Barn @Pengelley in Truro. It promises to be a goldmine of insights and inspiration about women entrepreneurship.

Lucy Cox, an acclaimed business and confidence coach and director of AcadeMe, will lead the event. She will introduce and engage with a stellar lineup of speakers: Bella Collins, Laura Whyte, Emma Caddis, and Jo Murray. These remarkable women bring a wealth of experience, from setting world records in endurance rowing to revolutionizing accountancy, cultivating internationally successful businesses, and navigating the highs and lows of app development.

The event will feature Q&A sessions, table discussions, lunch, and ample networking opportunities.

Rachel Lewis, workshop and events delivery manager at Unlocking Potential who deliver the Breakthrough programme on behalf of the Growth Hub, highlighted the significance of this gathering stating: “The UK economy is sat on a largely untapped seam of pure gold—women’s entrepreneurship. Whether you are just starting or generating up to £1 million, the stories shared will resonate to ‘turn the tide’ offering inspiration and practical insights into overcoming challenges, embedding sustainability, and building resilient teams.”

Coming up later this month, people are invited to attend the more events to help their business be more diverse including: Fairer Futures: Tackling the Gender Pay Gap on September 18 and Being an inclusive employer and colleague on September 24.

The Breakthrough 3 programme and the Growth Hub, are funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund as part of the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Good Growth Programme. The aim is to realise the potential of businesses in the region and to make the economy more resilient, more equal and more prosperous.
