Free webinars for businesses

Growth Hub experts are supporting a series of FREE Compliance Demystified webinars taking place over the summer designed to help businesses in Cornwall and Isles of Scilly.

Cornwall Council’s Business Regulatory Support team will be running the online events focusing on topics including net zero, starting and growing a business, planning permission and the employment of children.

Kirsty Miles-Musgrave, Growth Hub’s investment operations manager, is to speak at the Start up, Get Set, Grow webinar on July 24. She will join the Business Regulatory Support team to reveal the support available to businesses no matter what stage of development they are at. During the webinar, attendees will discover the free start-up and growth programmes available, hear how they can make their business safe for customers and staff with compliance tips, and understand how costly non-compliance can be.

Kirsty said: “This webinar is a great way to better understand the fantastic business support available through the Council and I hope it will help boost confidence in those running businesses in the county.”

The first webinar, Net Zero – what is it and how does it relate to my business?, takes place on July 9 and will look at climate change, its impacts on Cornwall and how businesses can reduce their carbon emissions.

July 11’s webinar, Planning Permission for businesses, has already sold out but people can still request a replay.

The Employment of Children webinar takes place on July 17 and is open to businesses, parents, educators or anyone interested in the welfare of children.

The webinars will allow time for attendees to ask questions.

Kirsty says: “Signing up to these webinars can help business owners get a grip of some key requirements for keeping your business and customers safe, and legal, as well as how to do your part for the planet and local communities.”
