We are a general bookkeeping and accounts practice, dealing with Bookkeeping, Payroll, VAT, Tax Returns and Credit Control. We have a fun and relaxed approach (within the regulations of HMRC of course!) and we don’t take ourselves too seriously. We pride ourselves on the relationships we build with our clients; they know they can rely on us and that we appreciate no two businesses are the same.
Why was the business founded?
Claire Martin worked in the accounts industry for several years before starting Perfect Sums. One day, she decided to go self-employed to have more time at home with her young family. In 2017 ‘Perfect Sums Bookkeeping and Accounts Ltd’ was founded! Initially, it was just Claire but it soon became clear that there was enough clients in the market for this to become bigger. Soon after, Sam and Ria joined the team and the rest, as they say, is history!!
How does the business compare to competitors in the industry?
We would like to think the less corporate approach makes us stand out. We are no less professional but remove the “jargon”. We will always go the “extra mile” and our client retention proves to us this works.
How can Perfect Sums help businesses and readers?
We are here to help and advise on all sorts of accountancy and bookkeeping matters, we work closely with other professionals externally so if we don’t know the answer we can find someone who does. Often people come to us having tried to do bookkeeping themselves and have quickly realised it not as simple as they first thought, but with the correct set up and training it can be. Its certainly not about the bottom line for us. Happy staff, happy clients, we are like a family, we all share the same goals and morals and that’s important. The ethos of the company is presented in the way the employees portray it, so if we can keep our lovely team happy, our clients will get the best service possible, then we have success!
