At Feritech Global, we sell to customers in over forty countries worldwide and up until now, 99% of our business has been overseas. We have worked on projects all over the world, including Australia, USA, South America and West Africa.
However, we are now at a pivotal moment in our company journey. We have invested in a £3 million advanced manufacturing centre near Falmouth which will be the only manufacturing facility of its kind in the South West, where all facets of design, engineering and manufacturing are carried out on one site, enabling faster completion of projects.
This marks a new focus for the company and a new opportunity for us to grow local business as well as overseas business. Usually businesses start off with local trade and then later they look to export. At Feritech Global, we are doing this in reverse order!
One example is a recent project where we supplied steel fabrications for the redevelopment of Carrick Business Centre in Penryn. As we have been based in the Falmouth area for many years, it has been great to be part of the team working on an iconic building right on our doorstep.
The Grade 2 listed building is being converted from outdated offices to comprise an exciting new mixed development, including commercial space and student accommodation. The substantial warehouse property has a prominent waterfront location. It has 13,720 square feet internally over 3 floors.
Feritech has provided steel fabrications, including three floor support beams, one plate lintel and a large ‘goalpost’ structure for supporting the stairwell and roof above.
The property development company which is managing the project is JPM Integrations Limited. We are pleased that we have been able to provide JPM Integrations with the steel fabrications they needed and meet the very short deadlines demanded by the project.
