ATI2 Supporting Innovation in Manufacturing

Business support programme, Acceleration Through Innovation 2 (ATI2), has assisted a number of manufacturers throughout Cornwall & the Isles of Scilly, by helping them innovate their processes to boost productivity, increase efficiencies and achieve sustainable growth.

With rising energy costs and disruptions within supply chains driving up costs for manufacturers, now is the time to explore the ways in which innovation and future technologies can build resilience into businesses and help them withstand any adverse effects which could arise due to current market uncertainty.

“In my current role and recently as a judge for the Cornwall Manufacturers Awards, it never ceases to surprise me when small changes to the production process have a big impact on overall productivity and profitability for the manufacturer. Continual improvement is vital for business growth, ensuring there’s capacity for an increase in demand and long term stability”, says Mike Roberston, Business Innovation Advisor at ATI2.

To discover the latest innovation trends and technologies shaping the industry’s future, Cornish manufacturers are invited to attend ATI2’s Cornwall Innovation Club: Make Smart event, which will be held at the Cornwall Hotel and Spa, St Austell, on November 25 from 9am.

The Cornwall Innovation Club is a fully-funded membership and business networking group founded by ATI2, a £3.4M business support programme which is led by the University of Plymouth and funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

Ran in partnership with Cornwall Chamber of Commerce, the ‘Make Smart’ event will be the first in-person gathering since the start of the pandemic, and will feature a business update from Kim Conchie, CEO at Cornwall Chamber of Commerce, plus presentations from Paul Gilbert, SWMAS Manufacturing Specialist and Konstantin Leonenko from the University of Plymouth’s Digital Fabrication and Immersive Media Laboratories.
