Acorn Blue’s development One Lusty Glaze won 5 Star Gold for ‘Best Residential Development Cornwall’ at the UK Property Awards sponsored by The Telegraph.
The awards ceremony held at the London Marriott in Grosvenor Square was attended by property professionals nationwide. Having been shortlisted for an award, members of the Acorn Blue team who worked on the One Lusty Glaze scheme travelled to London for the evening.
On winning the award Nicola Markham, Joint managing director of Acorn Blue, said: “The scheme developed in partnership with Galliard Homes has been the highlight and stand out development for Acorn Blue this year. We knew the location and design were special and are delighted with the demand and therefore speed of sales.”
Construction of One Lusty Glaze was complete in July ready for the summer season, 90% of the homes had been reserved off plan whilst the remaining properties were quickly snapped up by the summer’s end.
Situated on the site of the former derelict Riviera Hotel, One Lusty Glaze in Newquay is a collection of thirty six contemporary 1, 2, 3 and 4 bedroom apartments and three 3 bedroom houses along with six houses built for Devon and Cornwall Housing Association.
Sitting in an elevated and commanding position to the east of Newquay town centre, overlooking the protected green space of the Barrowfields, 100 metres from the rugged granite clifftop and a couple of minutes walk to Lusty Glaze Beach, One Lusty Glaze’s position is second to none.
Contemporary in design with a predominantly glazed façade, to take advantage of the superb coastal views and sunsets over Towan Headland, the apartments are west facing with an open plan living space, terrace or balcony. The shape and form along with the simple palette of materials used has made One Lusty Glaze the latest landmark on the Cornish coastline!
The development further demonstrates Acorn Blue’s expertise in prime waterfront sites and continued support of the rediscovery of the country’s favourite coastal locations.
The company buys greenfield or brownfield sites in urban, rural and coastal locations and are equally happy with new build developments or regeneration projects. Specialising in flexible partnerships, over 50% of the developments are built under partnerships with landowners or introducers. They are happy to buy land with or without planning permission and look at options or planning promotion agreements.
